Good news about Kilo - thanks Alan. I doubt that he'll start but would like to see him get a decent length of time on the pitch, see what he can do.

When did you last see Mipo playing Snide?

Re: Team for Doncaster
Hearing the news about Mipo and with a slightly different back four to Lard and i'd go with Fornals as he's had sporadic starts of late....

Randolph
Fredericks - Balbuena - Dawson - Cresswell
Soucek - Rice
Yarmolenko - Bowen - Fornals
Mipo

Mipo hasnt trained all week so probably only on the bench at best tomorrow

Thanks Alan
Good news, if Antonio needs to be rested, I would like to see Mipo start.

Alan 4:51 Fri Jan 22
Re: Team for Doncaster
Mipo has had a 2nd Covid test which was negative, so they think that the 1st was a false positive. So, he's a possibility for the Doncaster game.

Re: Team for Doncaster
I'm with you Lard, it's all good having a team good on paper but that is our plan B team and we haven't got a plan B. Doncaster are a good TEAM and in form. If we put out too weaker team it's likely we'll have shit service to the front players and very bad deliveries from set piece situations.

Re: Team for Doncaster
This will be a tough game, Donny are riding high inn League 1 having win 6 or their last 7 League games.

Therefore I expect Moyes to play as close to a first team as possible, particularly in defence. The exception being Randolph in goal.

Randolph
Coufal - Dawson - Ogbonna - Cresswell
Soucek - Rice
Yarmolenko - Bowen - Lanzini
Antonio

Yarmo is less mobile than Haller if that’s possible

Utter bollocks. Nobody is less mobile than Haller, and I would include Harry Redknapp's Mrs in that.

The game is also on BBC Red Button One

Re: Team for Doncaster
Defensively we have a lot of cover. The fact that we can play Fredericks, Balbuena, Diop & Johnson in this game while resting all 4 of the defence that played the past 2 league games is pretty good.

Unfortunately this game also highlights that we have no cover for the centre midfield & Striker positions.

We desperately need to replace Snodgrass & Haller in the next week. If Antonio, Rice or Soucek get injured we are screwed.

Romfordboy 11:59 Fri Jan 22
Re: Team for Doncaster
Yarmo is less mobile than Haller if that’s possible... completely unsuited to playing the Moyes striker role.

I would play Benrahma up there before yarmo... huge work rate and chaser.

Re: Team for Doncaster
I find it strange that Moyes has never tried Yarmolenko as a striker, not even for 15 minutes coming off the bench. He may not have all the typical attributes of a striker but he often plays there for Ukraine - he's got a good finish on him and has had some success.

I'm also liking the idea of Diop as a DM. However, I doubt that Moyes could cope with more than one experimental team selection, even against a League 1 side.

Re: Team for Doncaster
Randalph
Frederik's, Diop, Balbuena, Johnson
Noble, Soucek
Lanzini, Benrahma, Fornals
Yarmolenko

Full bench with Antonio, Rice, Bowen etc to come on for half an hour if needed. Should be more than enough to win the game. If the opposition were better then full team. But they are not. Hopefully 2 up by half time and win 3-0 comfortably.

Unfortunately it's never as easy as that. With the bench probably needed after 20 mins.

I've always thought this, he has all the attributes of a anchor man type CDM. Would need coaching but he has alot of talent it seems a waste that he is nowhere near the starting 11 at the moment.

I was at the first game we had at the new White Hart Lane, Diop that day was unbelieveable......he went on that run where he steamed forward was bearing down on goal and then shanked the finish. Would have been some goal, I find it strange Moyes has transformed Ogbonna and Balbuena but Diop has been left behind

The game is on the bbc website and iplayer.

Re: Team for Doncaster
I remember when Diop started with us he would make some runs up front and his long passing was better. He even scored a goal or 2, I think in the cups against poorer opposition. However, at the time I thought I’d like to see him in a DM role, could still be interesting.

I’m with you, Diop is not getting a run and we need the midfield back up so we may as well try him there. Who knows, it may work out well.

Re: Team for Doncaster
I'd stick Benrahma through the middle personally, have lanzini in the 10 with Yarma and Fornals either side.

Odubeko is self isolating and will miss the game.

Re: Team for Doncaster
Vexed
I think Diop could play in central midfield.
His height would be a benefit too in place of Rice or Soucek.

Randolph
Fredricks
Alves
Balbuena
Johnson
Diop
Noble
Lanzini
Benrhama
Yarmolenko
Odubeko
